Woodbury county sends two staunch republicans to represent its interests in this session of the legislature. Hon. I. B. Santee, of Danbury, was born in Monongalia county, W. Va., March 7, 1852. Added to his southern integrity is the loyalty to his adopted state, Iowa, of which he has been a resident fifteen years. After studying in the public schools at home he attended the West Virginia university at Morganstown for two years. Deciding upon a business rather than a professional life, he entered the Iron City Commercial college at Pittsburg, Pa., fitting himself thoroughly for a commercial life, in which he has always engaged. He is cashier of the Danbury State bank. Mr. Santee comes to the house a representative citizen of his county, one who has never mixed in politics so far as office-holding has been concerned, but is a loyal and active worker for his party. He will bring the experience of many years of active business life, and will be a factor in legislation where that is concerned. Mr. Santee was married June 16, 1876, to Miss Addie M. Gibson. His religious views are on the liberal order. He is a member of the Masonic lodge.
