As successor to the Hon. H. O. Weaver, Louisa county sends to the house this year the Hon. Hilton M. Letts of Columbus Junction. Mr. Letts is a Louisa county man, born and bred, born May 13, 1857. He was married to Miss Nellie Springer May 5, 1880. They have three children. He has no religious preferences, but is inclined to all churches in a charitable way. Mr. Letts has served his county two terms as county supervisor. He comes from a large and wealthy family identified with that section of Iowa and all its best interests. Mr. Letts, aside from his farming interests, is extensively engaged in the stock business, much of which he controls in his locality. As a citizen he is popular, and his republican friends send him to the house confident of his ability to ably represent them and their needs in legislative matters.
