Born at Eldora, Iowa, December 25, 1861, and died at Alden, Iowa, August 8, 1909. He was educated at Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, and his work as a law student was done in a law office. He was admitted to the bar at Eldora, Iowa, about 1883, and commenced practice at Alden, Iowa, that same year. He was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives in the 28th and 29th General Assemblies. From the records of the Hardin county district court we get the estimate of the Hardin county bar to the effect that brother Furry was a prominent and valuable citizen, and his example as a practitioner worthy of emulation by the profession, and that his memory is held dear by his brothers in the profession who knew and valued him for his many good qualities of mind and heart.
