Attended grade and high school in Minnesota and Idaho, and Centerville Community College in Iowa. Farmer and farm manager. Served on local school board; county and state Extension Councils; Watershed Association and other community projects. Married Mary Jo Scott of Moravia. Three married daughters. Fourth term in Iowa House.

Attended schools in Minnesota, Idaho, and Centerville Community Collage in Centerville, Iowa. Married Josephine Scott, 1937. Has three daughters: Mrs. Nancy Milburn, Judy Guinn and Mary Sue. Farmer and farm manager. Member of Christian Church. Member of Farm Bureau, township director four years. On Appanoose County Extension Council four years, as chairman two years. Past member of the State Extension Advisory Council. In 1953 received the W. G. Skelly "Superior Achievement in Agriculture" award. Active in soil conservation; was one of two from Iowa selected for the national Goodyear "Soil Conservation" award in 1962. Is chairman of Appanoose County Watershed Association, vice president of Appanoose Davis Mutual Insurance Association. Served on local school board, township trustees, county and state extension advisory boards, Republican county chairman, Farm Bureau county president. Served in 59th, 60th, 60th Extra and 62nd General Assemblies.

Has three daughters: Mrs. Nancy Milburn, 25, mother of two; Judy, 22; and Mary Sue, 15. Engaged in dairy farming since 1937. Member of the North Bend Christian Church, where he is an elder and Sunday School teacher. Member of Farm Bureau for 18 years, township director four years. On Appanoose County Extension Council four years, as chairman two years. Past member of the State Extension Advisory Council. In 1953 received the W. G. Skelly "Superior Achievement in Agriculture" award. Active in soil conservation; was one of two from Iowa selected for the national Goodyear "Soil Conservation" award in 1962. Has been actively engaged in dairy farming since 1937. Elder in the North Bend Christian Church. Served on the Appanoose county extension council four years, as chairman two years. Presently a member of the State Extension Advisory Council. Interested in soil conservation and is chairman of Appanoose County Watershed Association. Several years on township school board and township board of trustees. Serving first term.
