Born in Washington County, Ohio, January 17, 1846. He received his early education the county schools of his birth place. At the age of eighteen he came to Iowa, and began the study of law in the office of Maxwell & Bryan, at Indianola. He was admitted to the bar in 1868, he came directly to Lewis, then the county seat of Cass county, and engaged in the practice of his profession. In October of 1868 Mr. DeLano was married to Miss Martha Hockett. Mr. DeLano represented Cass County in the Thirtieth Iowa General Assembly, 1904. He was a member of the Democratic Party.
