Graduated from Northwood High School 1955. Attended Iowa State University 1955-58. Served in Army as military policeman and special security supervisor for presidential trips during President Eisenhower Administration 1958- 1960. Received White House Service Certificate for special service. Married Becky Buenneke of Albert Lea, Minnesota, May 26, 1962. Two daughters: Rhonda and Renae. Owner-operator 640-acre farm. Member First Lutheran Church, North Iowa Area Development Agriculture Study Committee, Worth County Crime Commission, State and County Historical Society, Jaycees, Farm Bureau, Izaac Walton League, Pork Producers Association, American and Iowa Soybean Association, Soil Conservation District, Sunset Saddle Club. Served 2nd Session 63rd G.A. and re-elected 1970.
