Senator from the Thirty-ninth District, composed of the counties of Bremer and Butler. Born in Burlington, Vermont. His parents were both born in Ireland. He moved to Iowa at an early age and was educated in the common schools of Iowa. Has been a farmer and stock raiser practically all his life and now lives on a fine farm within a mile of the old homestead where his parents settled thirty-six years ago. Has held various township offices and was a member of the Board of Supervisors of his county when elected to the Senate. Elected Senator in 1903 and served during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first and Thirty-second General Assemblies. A Democrat in politics.
