He received his education in the district school. Was married to Annie Eckman in 1875; has five daughters and four sons. Moved to Iowa in 1883; is engaged in general farming and breeding of fine stock. Was elected to the State Senate in 1903, and served during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first and Thirty-second General Assemblies. A Republican in politics.
