He has continued to live on the farm on which he was born and was educated in a rural school about forty rods from his home. Is married and has a family of eight children and is prominent in social and business affairs of his locality. Is an active member of the Catholic Church at Luxemburg, Dubuque county. He held the office of Justice of the peace for six years and township trustee for ten years. Has been a member of the school board ever since he has become a citizen. Elected to the Legislature in the year 1903 and re-elected in the year 1906, serving during the Thirtieth, Thirty-first and Thirty-second General Assemblies. A Democrat in politics.
