Representative from Emmet county, was born in Bremer county, Iowa, November 14, 1881. His father was born in Ireland and his mother in Illinois. Moved with his parents to Butler county in 1884. Graduated from the Shell Rock high school in 1898. Became a clerk in the Burt National Bank in 1899 which position he held for a short time and then was employed by the Fenton State Bank. Became cashier of the Ringsted State Bank, July 1, 1900, which position he held until January 1, 1911, when he was elected president. Has been mayor of Ringsted and member of the city council. Elected Representative in 1910. A Democrat in politics.
