Representative from Poweshiek county, was born at Chester Centre, Iowa, October 10, 1870. His parents were born in New Hampshire and were descendents of Revolutionary stock. Has spent all of his life on the farm except the years that he was a student in Grinnell College. Has served as township trustee and as member of the school board. Was president of the Grinnell Short Course Association, county secretary of the Corn Belt Meat Producers Association for six years and is now treasurer of the Poweshiek County Central Fair Association. Is a feeder and shipper of live stock. Was married in 1891 and has five children. Is a member and an official of the Congregational church. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. A republican in politics.
