Was a private in Company G, Fifty-second Iowa Infantry Volunteers and also Captain and Commissary of Subsistence of Volunteers in the Spanish-American war. Was a member of Bahama expedition sent out by State University in 1893 for scientific research. Elected Representative in 1901, serving during Twenty-ninth General Assembly, and again elected Representative in 1908. A Republican in politics.
