Senator from Thirty-ninth district, composed of the counties of Bremer and Butler, was born in Maxfield, Bremer county, Iowa, December 25, 1869, of German parentage. He is a graduate of the liberal arts department of the Iowa university, also of the law department, having graduated from the latter in 1896. Was county superintendent of schools in Bremer county for four years. Was married May 25, 1898, to Miss Sophia Neverman. They have two sons. At present he is a member of the firm of Hagemann & Farwell, attorneys, at Waverly. Elected to the legislature to succeed Senator Charles Gates who died January 21, 1913. A democrat in politics.
