Senator from the Forty-sixth district, composed of Cherokee, Ida and Plymouth counties, was born in Cherokee, Iowa, February 3, 1879, of Yankee parentage. Following his education in the Cherokee schools he began his studies in higher institutions and graduated from the law department of Drake University in 1900. Practiced his profession in Cherokee and was elected county attorney in 1907, which office he held for two years. Is leader of Co. M, Fifty-sixth regiment, I.N.G., and has been in the national guard service for ten years. Is a leader in Iowa Masonic circles and a member of the Knights of Pythias. Was married to Miss Rose Freeman, June 17, 1907. They have no children. Elected senator in 1912. A democrat in politics.
