Representative from the thirty-fifth district, composed of Guthrie county, in the thirty-seventh general assembly, was born in Noble county, Ohio, April 29, 1859. With his parents he removed to and settled on a farm in Guthrie county, near Montieth, in 1864. Following his schooling in the public schools of his county, he finished his education in the Springer school in Chicago. Returning to Guthrie county he taught school for a number of years. Was married in 1880 to Miss Alice McClellan to whom were born three daughters. Mr. Reed is an extensive farmer and breeder of Thoroughbred Aberdeen Angus cattle, Belgian horses, and Poland China hogs. He has also been a large shipper of cattle from the western states. He is a member of the Christian church and the I.O.O.F. A democrat in politics.
