Senator from the twenty-second district, composed of Clinton county, was born January 29, 1878, in Clinton, Clinton county, Iowa, of Irish parentage. He was educated in the public and parochial schools of Clinton. His first employment was with C. Lamb & Sons of Clinton and in 1899 he became a brakeman on the Chicago and Northwestern Railway. He was elected alderman from the fifth ward of Clinton in 1906 and re-elected in 1908 and 1910. He is a member of the B. of R. T. and C. O. F. Elected representative in 1910. Re-elected in 1912. Elected senator in 1914. A democrat in politics.
