His father, Benjamin Broxam, was born near Hull, England, and his mother, Mary Linch Broxam, was born in Ohio of Dutch-Irish parentage. Attended district and high school also business college at Dixon, Illinois, and later attended the college of pharmacy at Highland Park College, Des Moines, and has since followed this vocation at Maquoketa. Was married in 1903 to Alice Langridge. Was president of the Jackson County Agricultural Society and a member of the city council for six years. Elected to the senate in 1916. A democrat in politics.
