Senator from the forty-second district, Howard and Winneshiek counties, was born at Cresco, Iowa, May 6, 1873, and has always lived at Cresco; is a graduate of the Cresco high school, and of the college of law, University of Minnesota. Engaged in the practice of law at Cresco since 1896, in partnership with his father, the late Henry Thomas Reed, who was a member of the 16th general assembly from 1896 until the latter's appointment as United States district judge in 1910. Has been city solicitor of Cresco and county attorney for Howard county. Is married, and has three children. Elected to the senate in 1918, and re-elected in 1922. A republican in politics.
