Graduate of Zearing H.S.; B.S. from Iowa State Teachers, 1936; graduate work at U. of Denver, and U. of Nevada. Member Phi Sigma Epsilom. Married Opal Dellinger 1935; five daughters, one son. Athletic director, coach and government instructor 16 years in high school, 15 years in college. Charter member Iowa H.S. Football Coaches Hall of Fame; member Iowa Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame; District director Reuben H. Donnelley Corp.; Supervisor Commercial Spraying Operation 13 summers; immediate past treasurer Iowa Property Taxpayers Ass'n., past president of Indianola Lion's Club. Member Elks Lodge, Masonic Lodge, United Presbyterian Church, and Farm Bureau. Member and past county chairman Calhoun Democrats. On athletic steering committee Simpson College. Owns and resides on 330 acre farm near Rockwell City. First term.
