Senator from the thirty-fourth district, composed of Harrison, Crawford and Monona counties; was born in Pottawattamie county, Iowa, November 7, 1866. In February, 1880, he moved with his parents to a farm in Harrison county, in which county he has since resided. In 1889 he married Margaret Whiteside and to them were born two daughters, Ada and Edith. He received his education in the rural schools. Has been engaged in farming for many years. In 1901 he was elected sheriff of Harrison county, serving two terms. Also served as trustee a number of terms. Elected to the senate in 1922. He is a Mason. A republican in politics.
