He was married to Ruth Dodge of Orchard, Iowa, on July 24, 1907. He left the farm to accept a position in First State Savings Bank at Ionia, Iowa. He was secretary to the Floyd County Business Men’s Credit association for fifteen months, and a member of St. Charles Lodge 141 A.F. & A.M., and a Mason. He was a republican in politics.
