Attended Cornell college, from which he graduated in 1894. Member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Immediately after graduation started farming and is still engaged in that occupation. Married Jennie Davis Billings, to which union was born two children, Edward and Isabel. Has been actively engaged in banking for about twenty-seven years, and has been president of the Union Trust and Savings bank at Stanwood for the past twenty years. Is a trustee of Cornell college, and a member of the Masonic and Knights of Pythias lodges. Elected senator in 1924, re-elected in 1928. Republican in politics.
