Representative from Poweshiek county, was born in Illinois, January 21st, 1866. He came with his parents to Poweshiek county in 1873. Attended the public schools of his home county including three terms at Grinnell. Married at Fort Collins, Colorado, December 24th, 1896, to Minnie L. Breniman. To this union five children were born. He was engaged in farming and stock raising until 1929 when he and his wife returned to Brooklyn, the sons taking over the farms and managing the land on a partnership basis. A republican.
