Senator from the eleventh district, composed of Clarke and Warren counties, was born May 14, 1875, on a farm in Clarke county, near where the town of Weldon is now located. His parents were early settlers of this locality and settled on the famed Morman Trace road which crosses the southern part of that county. There they broke the virgin prairie and established their home, the farm where Senator Lowe now resides, and where he has always been actively engaged in the occupation of farming and live stock production. He received his education above high school at Humeston Normal College and Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, completing business courses at both schools. He was married December 25, 1898, to Florence M. Eddy and has a family of three children: Mrs. Lois E. Fairall, Ora Ileen and Uriel Wendell. He has always been active in politics and aside from various township offices, was elected and served as county auditor of Clarke county during the years 1907 to 1911. He is affiliated religiously with the Christian church, fraternally with the K. P. order, and politically with the republican party.
