Senator from the seventeenth district, composed of Dallas, Guthrie and Audubon counties, was born January 12, 1878, on a farm in Cass county. As a young man he worked by the month and engaged in farming, until the spring of 1905. In June, 1905, he moved to Dexter, Dallas county, and there engaged in the real estate business until 1920. At the present time he operates a number of farms, and is interested in the Ford garage business. He was elected to the office of senator in 1928; is a member of the Masonic order, and a republican in politics.
