B.A. State University of Iowa 1939. M.A. State University of Iowa 1951. School teacher and administrator 1936-1953. Newspaper publisher Glidden Graphic since 1953 and Scranton Journal since 1960. Married Alice Black of Milford, Iowa. Four children. Served U.S. Marine Corps, 1942-1945. Member Glidden-Ralston School Board 17 years. Former president Carroll County Historical Society, and member Board of Curators State Historical Society of Iowa 6 years. Methodist. First term in Iowa House.
