Senator from the third district, composed of Davis and Appanoose counties, was born at Oskaloosa, Iowa, February 5, 1904. Received early education in Centerville, Iowa, public schools and graduated from University of Wisconsin in 1926 and from law college of University of Iowa in 1929. Formed a partnership in 1929 with his father, H. E. Valentine, and has since been engaged in the practice of law at Centerville. Elected senator in 1932. A democrat.
