Dubuque District 19 Democrat Born at Ottumwa May 5, 1912, son of Wycliff and Anna Clark. Married in 1932 to Mary Louise Spurgeon. Five children: Joanne (Tharp), David (deceased), Mary Ellen (Johnson), Patrick, and Catherine. Worked in Wapello and Monroe County coal mines. Sold road construction equipment for 15 years. Presently employed by an asphalt paving company at Dubuque. Graduated from Julian Dubuque High School.
