Senator from the fourteenth district, Mahaska county, was born on a farm in Mahaska county, March 18, 1863, and was educated in the public schools of that county and at Penn college in Oskaloosa. He was admitted to the bar in May, 1889. He removed to Grand Island, Nebraska, in 1890, returning to Oskaloosa in 1895, where he has since lived. Elected senator in 1932. A democrat.
