Senator from the thirty-second district, Woodbury county, was born on a farm near Little Sioux, Harrison county, Iowa, August 21, 1891, son of Michael and Luella Murray. Educated in the grade schools and high school of Little Sioux, Iowa. Graduate of the college of liberal arts and college of law of the State University of Iowa. Member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Phi Alpha Delta fraternities. Entered the general practice of law at Sioux City, Iowa, in 1924. Appointed and served as first assistant county attorney of Woodbury county from January 1, 1933, to January 1, 1937. Married Frances Margaret Bodin of Sioux City, Iowa, on November 21, 1928, and they have one daughter, Anne. Elected senator in 1936. A democrat.
