Brooklyn Republican 12th Senatorial District Keokuk and Poweshiek Counties. Born in Brooklyn, Iowa, March 18, 1887, son of John F. and Nellie H. Talbott. Attended the public schools and graduated from high school at Brooklyn. Attended Grinnell College for two years; took his law course at the State University of Iowa, graduating in 1910. Has practiced law in Brooklyn, Iowa, with Frank R. Talbott, partner, from 1910 to the present time. Was chairman of the Republican county central committee for one term; was elected Poweshiek county attorney in November, 1926, and served three terms. Elected state senator, November, 1938.
