Tipton Republican 24th Senatorial District Cedar and Jones Counties. Born on a farm in Cedar county, Iowa, Sept. 7, 1898, only son of Henry W. and Louella (Eves) Hamiel. Received early education in schools of Cedar county, attended liberal arts college at State University of Iowa, B.A. degree in 1921, law degree in 1923. Married Thelma E. Davis, June 4, 1924; father of four children, Eleanor R., Norman J., Keith H., and Carol L. County attorney 1924-1931. Now city solicitor, Tipton. President Tipton Independent Consolidated School District. Member Cedar County Bar Association, Delta Theta Phi, Beta Gamma Sigma, Methodist Episcopal church. Serving first term in senate.
