Conrad Grundy County Republican. Born December 24, 1874, in Hardin County. Moved with parents to Marshall county when eight years of age. Received early education in public schools of Hardin and Marshall counties. Attended Cedar Falls and Drake University Commercial College. A business farmer and live stock feeder for many years. Helped organize and was first president of First State Bank, Conrad, Iowa. Twenty-eight years a school director, including many years as president of the Conrad board of education. Member of Grundy county board of supervisors and chairman of Grundy county Republican Central Committee for three terms. A charter member of Grundy County Farm Bureau. Married Miss Effie Hadley, June 7, 1899. Has four mature children and twelve grandchildren. Member of Methodist church and a Mason. Serving second term in legislature.
