Senator from the fifteenth district, composed of Monroe and Marion counties, was born in Spring Hill, Iowa, August 28, 1895, the son of James W. Lundy and Anna Peverley Lundy. He attended public schools at Indianola and graduated from the Indianola high school in 1911; from Simpson college, Indianola, in 1915 with the degree of bachelor of arts. He attended the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton school of commerce in 1915 and 1916, and the college of law, Drake University, and was admitted to the practice of law in 1924, prior to which time he served as principal of the high school at Winterset, Iowa, one year and principal of the high school at Albia, Iowa, seven years. In 1916 he married Miss June Skinner of Genoa, New York, and they have one daughter, Lorraine Lundy, a student at the University of Iowa. He served as city attorney two terms at Albia, and is a member of the law firm of Lundy & Pabst, Albia, Iowa. He is a member of the Alpha Tau Omega social fraternity, of Warren lodge, Indianola, A.F. & A.M., Royal Arch and Zerubbabel commandery at Albia, Kaaba temple of the Mystic Shrine, I.O.O.F., Albia Rotary club. He is secretary of the commercial club at Albia, and past president of the Iowa Association of Commercial Organization Secretaries. He is a member of the Greater Iowa Commission and is secretary of the Iowa Coal Institute, devoting most of his time in such capacity. He is a member of the Baptist church. He was a delegate to the national republican convention at Cleveland, 1936, and was elected to the Senate in 1936. A republican.
