Born November 17, 1776, in Bartville, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, to Alexander Wilson and Deborah Gilmore. He married Margaret Laughlin in 1818. In 1840, the couple moved from Pennsylvania to Iowa, where Mr. Wilson served the people of Jefferson County in the House of Representatives of the Third Legislative Assembly of the Iowa Territory. He died December 30, 1865, in Jefferson County, Iowa.
