Born November 10, 1808, at Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Mr. Bainbridge was a lawyer. He married Elizabeth Sarah Ann Graham Hooe, July 22, 1839, at Ft. Snelling, Iowa Territory. In November 1840, Mr. Bainbridge, of Dubuque County, was chosen president of the Iowa Territorial Council. He was a Whig member of the Council from Dubuque. He later was a Democrat and represented Dubuque County in the Legislative Assembly in 1840 and 1841. Mr. Bainbridge died July 15, 1857, in King George County, Virginia.
