Boone Republican 31st Senatorial District Boone and Story Counties. Born in Boone, Iowa, Feb. 12, 1902. Son of Jacob F. and Nancy Nystrom. Educated in Boone public schools and business college. Served an apprenticeship on C&W Railway. Entered oil business in 1934. Engaged in farm equipment retailing, and now in the automobile business. Married Agnes L. Smiley. They have two sons, Jack N. and Dwayne C. Served six terms as Boone County Republican chairman. Also fair board director. Director of Chamber of Commerce. Member of Lions' Club and Elks' Club, Masonic Bodies, including Shrine. Member of First Baptist Church, Boone, a deacon, and presently serving as moderator for the church. Served two terms in House of Representatives, 53rd and 54th General Assemblies.
