Educated in the public schools of Lincoln, Neb.; Fremont County and Shenandoah, Iowa. Iowa State University 1918. Married Carolyn Stevens Kent Feb. 25, 1920. Parents of two sons, Maurice and Wayne, who are engaged in farming with their father. Past president Fremont County Farm Bureau. Held various offices in township, cooperatives and Production Marketing Association. Received Skelly Farm achievement award in agriculture in 1952, and county soils awards. Former member of Fremont board of education. Member of Masonic Lodge, Shrine, Izaak Walton League. General chairman Iowa-Nebraska boundary study committee, 1957-1961. Who's Who, 1958. Active member of the Methodist Church as steward and teacher. Served in 56th, 57th, 58th and 59th General Assemblies.
