Vinton Benton County Republican. Born in Dallas County, Iowa, Dec. 24, 1906, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Alva Wright. Graduated from Earlham High School and Des Moines University as a pharmacist. Owns and operates a drug store in Vinton, Iowa. Married Eunice L. Loynachan and they have three grown daughters: Sherry (Mrs. Art McLaughlin), LaPorte City, Iowa; Sandra (Mrs. Jim Boyer), French Morocco; Sheila (Mrs. Wayne Demmel), Wilton Junction, Iowa. Member of the county central committee and mayor of Ankeny, Iowa, six years. Member of the Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge El Kahir Shrine, Lions Club, Vinton Chamber of Commerce, Iowa State Pharmaceutical Assn., Farm Bureau, Izaak Walton League, Benton County Fish & Game Club, American Animal Health and Pharmaceutical Assn., National Assn. Retail Druggists, vice president of the League of Municipalities of the State of Iowa. First term in house.
