Russell Republican Fourth (Old) Senatorial District Lucas and Wayne Counties. Born at Williamson, Iowa, Dec. 30, 1910, son of Jacob T. and Bertha Vincent. Graduated from Chariton High School, 1931. Attended Lewis Institute, Chicago, Ill. Married Pauline Barker, Russell, Iowa, 1936. Father of three children: Mrs. Roger (Elzan) McMurry, Des Moines, Iowa; Mrs. Harold (Dianne) Mitchell, Abilene, Texas, and Jacob, York, Neb. Engaged in farming and in plumbing and heating business in Wayne and Lucas Counties. Member of Church of Christ, lay preacher and teacher. Member of Farm Bureau, Wayne County Fair Board, director of Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative for 17 years and past president. Member of Agricultural Committee of eleven county rural area development commission. 4-H leader, honorary member of Corydon chapter of F.F.A., Boy Scout committeeman for Troop 142. First session.
