Born in Limavady, Ireland, April 12, 1848, and came to the United States at the age of 12 years. He lived on a farm near Pekin, until his marriage in 1875 to Ida Elizabeth Ogden when they moved to a farm near Hedrick. Mr. Wilson was always prominent in the Hedrick community in social, political, and religious life. At an early age he joined the Presbyterian Church and was a member in Martinsburg and later joined the church in Hedrick. He was president of the Farmers Mutual Insurance Company for twenty years. Mr. Martin represented Keokuk County in the Twenty-seventh and Twenty-eighth Iowa General Assembly.
