Married Dorothy Canine in New Sharon, Iowa, June 1946. One son, David Miles, born Jan. 13, 1958. Farm owner and operator. Served 40 months with the air force in World War II; discharged with the rank of staff sergeant. Member of the Farm Bureau, Southern Iowa Fair Boards Masonic Lodge, Shrine, Eastern Star, First Christian Church, School Board secretary 15 years. Served as member Boys' County 4-H Club Committee. Township clerk 10 years. Second term.
