Davenport Scott County Democrat. Born in Littleton, Ill., May 2, 1912. Attended elementary school at Macomb, Ill. Graduated from Macomb High School, 1930. Attended Western Illinois State Teachers College (now Western Illinois State University). Married Lurline Lewis of Macomb, Ill., 1935. They have two children: Jacqueline Kohl and Michael, both of Davenport. Worked at Herman Nelson, Moline, Ill., until 1951. Has been business representative of his local union since 1955 and is now directing business representative of Dist. 102, International Association of Machinists. Iowa vice president of the Quad City Federation of Labor. Appointed by Governor Hughes to the judicial nominating committee. Serving on various committees in Scott County, including mayor's youth committee and various committees dealing with vocational and technical training. First term.
