Kanawha Hancock County Democrat. Born February 22, 1897, Eagle Grove, Iowa. Attended Eagle Grove public schools; took course at LaSalle Extension University, Chicago. Married Helen Brower of Kanawha; one daughter and three sons. One son died in 1932; wife died in 1944. U.S. Army 1918-1919; member 19th Office Regiment, assigned to payroll office. Life member American Legion; past eighth district commander, past state vice commander. Member I.O.O.F. Lodge and Rebekah Lodge and Kanawha Lutheran Church. Retired. First term in house.
