Kent Clarke and Union Counties Democrat. Born on a farm in Union County, Iowa, December 4, 1909. Son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Madden. Educated in Kent High School. Graduated in 1927. Married Helen Short March 10, 1928. They have one son, Dale William Madden; two grandsons, Richard Dale and Robert Allen. Engaged in farming and livestock feeding all his life. Served on the rural school board in Union County. A member of the Masonic Lodge since 1950; past master since 1955. Member of the Christian Church. Serving first term.
