Graduated from Mason City Junior College; B.A., State University of Iowa; graduate work Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. Married Marilyn J. Passou, 1963. One daughter, Lisa. Teacher, high school general science, biology and chemistry, Riceville Community Schools, 1961-1963; Indianola Community Schools, 1963-1965. Co-owner LaFollete Label Service. First term.
