Dow City Crawford County Democrat. Born on farm near Dow City, Iowa, March 10, 1917, the son of John T. and Susan Kelly Houston. Educated in rural school of Crawford County and graduated from Dow City High School in 1933. Married Jeanne Buss in 1939. Two sons, Michael, Hastings, Minn., and Stephen, Morningside College, and two daughters, Nancy, a student at the University of Iowa, and Kathleen, a high school senior. Two grandchildren, David and Gregory Houston. Engaged in farming and trucking. Served on Crawford County board of supervisors, Crawford County fair board, and as 4-H Club leader and ASA committeeman. Served in 58th General Assembly.

Educated in the rural schools of Crawford county and graduated from Dow City high school in 1933. He has been a farmer and livestock feeder since. Married to Jeanne Buss in April, 1939. He has two sons, Michael, 19 and Stephen, 16, and two daughters, Nancy, 14, and Kathleen, 12. Served on P.M.A. and A.S.C. committees; as a 4-H leader; worked on Red Cross Fund drives; and is presently on Crawford County Fair Board. Served two years as County Supervisor. Member Catholic church. Serving his first term.
