Attended University of Nebraska for two years and was graduated from Iowa State University with B.S. in Agriculture in 1957. Attended graduate school at Iowa State University in pathology. Married Sharlene Furmen, Hemmingford, Neb., in 1955. Seven children. Real estate and insurance business in Ames. Member, Ames Board of Realtors, board of directors of Ames Multiple Listing Service. Director, former treasurer, past president Iowa Central Investment Corporation. Director of Red Rib, Inc. Member, board of directors of University Center Apts., Inc. Member of Methodist Church; active in church youth programs. Candidate for treasurer of state in 1962. First session in house.
