Four years night school, English, citizenship, history, and mechanical drawing in Chicago. Married Minna Reese, June 11, 1936; one son, Christian. Was employed in plumbing, sheet metal, heating and ventilation. Service station owner-operator, petroleum, and tire, battery and accessories distributor. Director Traer Chamber of Commerce. Trustee Traer municipal utilities. Ground Observer Corps supervisor. Associate member International Flying Farmers; member of QB, a national fraternal organization of Pilots. United Church of Christ, deacon and trustee. Commissioner, Iowa State Aeronautics Commission 1955-1963. First term in legislature.
