Born on August 15, 1801, in Georges Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Mr. Ayers was a Justice of the Peace in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in 1928. From 1829 to 1830, he was a County Auditor and from 1834 to 1841, he was a County Commissioner. He was Deacon at the Great Bethel Baptist Church, Uniontown, Pennsylvania. In 1857, he was a Representative in the Third Constitutional Convention in Henry County, Iowa. In 1858, Mr. Squire was a Representative in the State Legislature in Iowa. He died on January 30, 1859 at the age of 57 in Van Buren County, Iowa.
